It’s Monday, 3rd October 1836 — the grand unveiling of Herne Bay’s brand-new Clocktower! Mister Neale and Mister Penwick have been hard at work for months, orchestrating a day of joyful spectacle.
Bands are tuning up, acrobats are limbering, jugglers are tossing pins into the sea breeze, and the townsfolk are gathering for a glorious seaside parade. As night falls, fireworks and flaming torches are set to light up the pier in a dazzling display.
But when a bizarre twist of fate threatens to bring the festivities to a halt… who will step in to save the day?
